PAUL NEMY - WEST by JET

DECEMBER 26, 2012

When one’s vacation starts with the alarm clock blaring at no man’s or women’s hour of 03:30, you are pretty much guaranteed that your holiday will only get better from there. There are no good mornings, but just a farewell hug and kiss and a second good night of the night to Kate.
With a trusty co-driver (being very courteous and quiet so as not to distract my driving,) I was as possibly as anyone could at 05:00hrs, delivered ceremoniously to YYZ.
Here all had to do was to make sure I boarded the correct flight. “Eastjet” was not today's itinerary. It was the jet going west that I needed to find.
From there on, I was counting on the trusted “Time Flys” to get me to YVR as promised.

I lately try to limit my crying in public. Over the recent years I've had many occasions to pick up and deliver family, relatives, friends to the airport. As much as I enjoy being able to assist in their travels, I often feel a little sad and left out after seeing endless lines of people coming and going, faces of having been or ready to leave.
Today not only was I be delivered to the start of my travels by Nicola, but amazingly picked up five hours by flight later by Hyla.. Her part North American traverse half completed. Mine just starting.

I am now counting on gravity to deliver both a safe landing and for the tug on the ski hills Hyla and I will search out.

COMING NEXT - OFF TO WASHINGTON. WHERE THE HELL'S DENZEL?

JOHN NEMY - SOME CHRISTMAS STORIES

A CHRISTMAS STORY
1959
A time for a couple of kids when time didn't matter.
We're we going Dad?

Could possibly the silver arches in the distance turn golden one day?

Our own "It's a Wonderful Life" to have a "White Christmas" and not being left "Home Alone" or
"Home Alone II" or "Home Alone III" or "Home.....
We have a "ALL STAR" home.

No better way to get warm than to get cold.

Bazinga!

A CHRISTMAS STORY
1983
Flick: Are you kidding? Stick my tongue to that stupid pole? That's dumb!
Schwartz: That's 'cause you know it'll stick!
Flick: You're full of it!
Schwartz: Oh yeah?
Flick: Yeah!
Schwartz: Well I double-DOG-dare ya!
Ralphie as Adult: [narrating] NOW it was serious. A double-dog-dare. What else was there but a "triple dare you"? And then, the coup de grace of all dares, the sinister triple-dog-dare.
Schwartz: I TRIPLE-dog-dare ya!
Ralphie as Adult: [narrating] Schwartz created a slight breach of etiquette by skipping the triple dare and going right for the throat!

A CHRISTMAS STORY
2012
I look at my watch
And midnight is near
I think I'll go to  SPRAWLMART*

JOHN NEMY, PAUL NEMY - A CHRISTMAS STORY

A CHRISTMAS STORY
1959

A candy cane. A Christmas stocking. Santa.
Two brothers.
Not in front of a house, but a home, in a little town in the days when you could hear the snow fall.

A CHRISTMAS STORY
1983

Ralphie as Adult: [chuckling] Ho, ho, but no matter. Christmas was on its way. Lovely, glorious, beautiful Christmas, upon which the entire kid year revolved.

FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT - FALLINGWATER

NOVEMBER 4, 2012

To try to get a better feel for the upcoming U.S. Presidential election, Kate and I made our way down to the southwest corner of Pennsylvania early November. In between our political analyses, we did some sightseeing and hiking. Without much planning, we found ourselves close to what could be one of the most famous residences in all the U.S.A. Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater.

Was a little tentative during our tour. Tried not to cross "Killer 83"
Much to my disappointment, they just took down the Halloween decorations.

Here our guide is explaining how old the house is. Before today's modern era. Before the time you could get a blanket with sleeves.
What's the first thing you do when they say absolutely NO photography of the interior?

Frank seemed to be no puppet to anyone other than the FLW Marketing Enterprise Corporation.
Frank's main goal here was the integration of home and nature.

Frank and the homeowner, Pittsburgh businessman Edgar Kauffman.

Here the term "Waterbed" was first coined after a rather strong spring run-off.

Thanks to Hurricane Sandy, much water was falling.

I can't believe Obama won.

COMING SOON: MORE WATER THAT'S FALLING.(Hope there are no homes in this post)
