Having already ridden from Thunder Bay to the Sault, I was in no rush to do it again. With only one bus a day, actually 01:00am, here’s my ticket to ride.
In Sault Ste. Marie I’ll, big thanks to Kate, find our truck and then it’s back behind the wheel home.
Now having completed this leg of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to Thunder Bay, Ontatio, I’m close to having cycled across the whole of Canada. Not officially having “dipped” my back wheel in the Pacific, I’ve either started, completed or rode in whole in British Columbia four times. Have outright crossed Alberta in one swoop, let lone trips to the Columbia Icefields Parkway and more. I’ve conquered Saskatchewan with one trip coming from the west into Regina, and here riding east out of Saskatoon. Banged off the whole crossing of Manitoba here and now. My Ontario conquest had me again now riding from the Manitoba/Ontario province line to Thunder Bay. In 2015 I joined Hyla and Kristen on their cross country adventure for the Thunder Bay to Sault Ste Marie, Ontario. Though I’ve logged plenty of kilometres in Ontario, here the continuous links have a few holes.
Last year I virtually crossed Quebec the round about way via Chibougamou and then down to the St Lawrence. Having peddled parts of Charlevoix, Gaspe Peninsula, Southern townships, Le petit Train du Nord, Montreal…though lost more to explore, I’ll take it as crossed. Have not, YET cycled in New Brunswick and P.E.I. but all the more reason to now. One of my first and most memorable tours was riding around Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. Not in a complete east west passage, did cross part of Newfoundland on one tour and on another joined a group for a beautiful south north ride up the east coast that included a ride into Labrador.
Hows that,………….for now.
