NEW DELHI, UTTAR PRADESH, INDIA
Right after our visit to the Taj Mahal, we went back to New Delhi with our car hire.
This morning we meet Hyla’s friend that she had traveled with during and after her stay at school. Kristen with the tied up braided hair is Hyla’s school and travel companion. It was nice for Kate and I to meet her and go away with a good feeling that each girl has someone looking after each other's back. The other girl is Claire. Both girls are from Canada
After our breakfast we were off to the airport to catch a commuter flight, just over an hour to Amritsar. The holiest city in the world for the Shik religion. Here we were expecting and got the hottest temperatures of our trip so far. Low to mid 40c’s.
Ah! But it’s a dry heat.@#$%&*(_ It’s still 40!. The heat is one issue but the air is constantly filled with smoke(slash and burn farming, cooking fires, garbage smoldering everywhere, hundreds of kilns making building bricks and the add all the cars, buses, …..) Add to all that I don’t know how many different species of living beings carrying on with life.
