TREK DAY 1
NAYAPUL TO ULLERI
ANNAPURNA SANCTUARY, NEPAL
Have much to write and have many beautiful photos of our trek but don’t feel much like writing today. We traveled from Kathmandu, 7 hrs. by bus to Pokhara. It is both a jumping off point for any Annapurna bound adventurers and a holiday destination for any who wish. It has a rather nice lakefront strip line with your typical restaurants, bars and stores.
On our first day we were immediatly introduced to climbing or descending what sometimes seemed endless stone stairways. The last push to our first night, Ulleri, had supposedly over 3,500 steps. A good part of our trek seemed like we were climbing a pyramid and after all our hard work we quickly went down the other side.
We were invited to attend a local celebration tied to the full moon. It was also a fundraiser for the improvement of their local basketball court, including a lot of speeches from some local council
HYLA NEMY
all in Nepalese We all agreed that it was most likely the same things said at home on such occasions. Hard to sneak out when apparently we were honored guests including a flower lay and a forehead “bindi”. We were glad to support in exchange for dunkin a couple.
