APRIL, 2013

CAFE DOMESTIQUE
DUNDAS, ONTARIO, CANADA

With it being the 20th anniversary of Tim and John's Paris 2 Ancaster race of all sorts, they invited and a slew of notables came to ride. After many declined invitations due to partially living aboard, USA's most famous and current US National Cyclocross Champion, Jonathon Page accepted the challenge. If you come to win, you come in your cyclocross kit. If you come to ride like I do, you grab anything in the cycle closet you don't mind getting a little dirty.
Having gladly agreed to host him for the weekend, things did not start well after arriving at the Buffalo Airport on Friday only to find him stranded in Chicago for the night.
My night was savaged quite nicely by joining in a pre race get together at the very appropriate Cafe Domestique in Dundas, ON.

Co-race founder, Tim Frarrar is explaining to last year's men's winner, Mike Garrigan, that the previous week's rain has left the course a bit wet.
All smiles, Mandy Dreyer, must be picking up some "Cafe" vibe that she is going to repeat her last year's win

"FEED ZONE"
Cafe D's owner Krys seems to always have something hiding out back to roll out.
Proud to have a "Fonthill Lumber Niagara Grand Prix" (Yellow) hang with some big boy's kits.

Thanks for the invite John Thorpe.
Krys is always a gracious host. As a past CBC staffer, I pulled from my closet a '76 Montreal Olympic CBC shirt that would get much better use here.

COMING NEXT: BACK TO BUFFALO AND GOING OVER NIAGARA PAULS WITH PAGE.
