BAYFIELD INLET, ONTARIO - ICE HIKERS, CABIN FEVER, 2014

TUESDAY, JANUARY 28, 2014

Our second dawned clear and COLD. We went out but not to far about.
We seem to have gravitated to newer digital thermometers. All ours seem to stop registering @ minus twenty. We had to best guess the outdoor temps. Maybe minus ninety nine?

Wind chilly chin chill fear factor coming off the bay

 Crocodile Rock

"Hand over your money or I'll poke you with a five foot pole"

The snow cover offers a false sense of security. Even in these bitterly cold temps, and a couple of months of it, small parts of the channel are still slushy. Evidence of some water movement from below. Any water not frozen (even frozen) has some heat in it which must permeate through.

 Almost by order..........

 .....the weather turned and ......

....the cabin became twice as nice and toasty.
