ISLAND HOPPING ONTO
With the cabin (and outhouse, on left) looking in tack, we scurry over the last of the ice floes (until the WHOLE of Georgian Bay and Lake Huron freezes, water levels constantly rise and fall resulting in these ice fractures) onto the island.
At first I thought it might be a Canadian Naval submarine punching through thinking they reached the North Pole.
It was a long good haul. Still not ruling our sled dogs one day.
Something special about putting on a fire after the cabin has been in the deep
freeze for all of winter.
The heats on baby!!
Made it!
One of the solar arrays. |
That toilet seat heater might be lookin' good now!
Supper. The best after simmering on the stove for an hour. Lasagna! |
After hopping onto the roof to clean off the solar array, we already have some power.
It gets better than this, but not by much. After the adventure of coming in, finding everything in good shape, we end the day after a great supper by the roaring fire.
We will sleep well tonight (in between stoking the fire)
