DAY FIVE. SAINTE PLACIDE TO ST EUSTACHE, QUEBEC.

As we continue east to our main objective, the trail of “Le Petit Train du Nord”, what is becoming apparent is Quebec’s amazing network of cycling paths. Today we will pass through Oka, favourably noted for some cheese, less favourably so for a rather significant uprising when a local golf course tried to expropriate an aboriginal graveyard. Adding to an already amazing day of weather and travel is the ambience of a (post COVID lockdown) summer Sunday. LOTS of fellow cyclists.

Just outside of Oka we rode a ten kilometre stretch that must of had thirty marijauna dispensaries.

Ground zero for the Oka uprising.
It was this golf course that attempted to expropriate a neighboring aboriginal sacrete site that lead to months of conflict.
