LIMA, PERU. NEMY, KATE AND PAUL

Nov. 29, 30, 2016

After Kate's Mansfield reunion in So Cal I caught up for a pleasant visit with Mark and Joanna. Thanks for showing us your Newport Beach.
(I'm never failed in some form or another to be impressed, in all ways, with California. I saw a guy just minding his own business and driving down the street in what I believe to have a been a rare, race specific, Porsche Spyder 906. I try not to use profanity on GONP, but that is F&*KING AWESOME )

When Kate and I decided to head to South America and mainly Chile and Argentina, we noticed that most all of our possible flights connected thru Lima, Peru.

After the endless clicks on"Flight Network" and all,
why not visit.
So after a great LAX, connection in Panama City,
I saw the Panama Canal!
I saw the Panama Canal!........

........we'll stay and visit.

Even with four days, we will obviously see a fraction of this the second largest city in ALL of the Americas.
North, Central and South.
We are comfortable even though we are finding ourselves to be some of the few palefaces in this city of ten million.

Not prominent fixtures in town, but you know Kate.
Here she wanted to keep her string of Casino visits going after our transient stay in Niagara Falls and the recent Mansfield gamble on Las Vegas surviving a family overnighter.

All of our prospective global travel plans have us targeting countries of economic value towards our travel budget.
(could have saved all that writing above by just saying,
"being cheap"

Here we are more than comfortable in a room of age but extremely clean and well serviced. Very comfortable with, including breakfast, cdn$50/night

Though we are quickly finding out that VERY little English is spoken, (that is fine for "adventure and challenge" is our travel slogan), some things, as Christmas is coming, are the same.

He estado practicando mi español mirando artículos familiares y
después leyendo el menú de Macdonalds.

I also try to practise my Spanish by listening. I find it
harder when they are screaming at you.

Por favor guarda de la hierba!
For  favour guards de la hierba!

OK OK, I'll keep of the grass. Haven't found the translation to "Buddy" yet.

I failed to add to our travel "motto",
we've come to eat!

Here I try and very much enjoy one of Peru's most famous and national dishes,

Anticucho

Cow hearts.

With two days in there's still a lot more to see.
But for tonight its...........

THE END
