#YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK. #NEMY. #CYCLING THE SIERRA NEVADA. HOPEFULLY NOT HITTING ROCK BOTTOM.

Day Nine
September 1, 2016
You might be wondering how many kilometres we have ridin' so far. So am I. I get back to you.

We are just cruising along.

With Yosemite Valley being a dead end for vehicular traffic, we are spending today in the "Village" area and not paying too much attention to the bottom profile of this map.
Tomorrow it's away and up and up.

You can take a quick peak at the map of
Yosemite Valley
here.
Our first night we camped at North Pines.
Tonight at Housekeeping Camp.

We're just going up the valley to picnic at the base of El Capitan.

If you can pick up where Nicola is pointing to(a little more to the right), the upside-down triangle shadow, almost slightly up from the centre of the rock....

... you can see one figure directly to the right of the shadow and one climber, a ways, but directly below.

It generally takes three to four days to climb El Capitan.

Here we overhear from the Ranger' s narration that they are women and friends of hers.

Where are they?

 FOR GODS SAKE!!!
RIGHT THERE!!!
"are you having a nice holiday?"

This bivy was about two thirds of the way up, centre right.

Housekeeping camp evident as we've just done our own
(the girls did. thank you.)
laundry.

Here we have some fun and go old Yosemite sleeping school.
These shelters seem to have been here not quite from the formation of the valley, but certainly not long after the original influx of tourists.
(my mattress might have been prehistoric. I think it was petrified. Didn't see any, but cockroaches on holidays might have been coming for a million years)

Returning from nearby Curry Village after enjoying a evening dining out with the masses.
Fun. Fun.
Ice cream

 Go to sleep.
