Roger Hammond has had his bike
stolen just days before he is due to ride the Tour of Flanders (Sunday, April
5).
The British Cervelo Test Team professional left his
bike against a wall whilst out on a training ride in Belgium, only to turn
around and discover that it was missing, according to Belgian news website www.nieuwsblad.be.
The Cervelo bike is valued at €10,000 (just over £9,000).
Hammond is hoping that the thief realises that he has stolen an important
bike and returns it promptly.
Hammond took his first professional win in
three years when he won a stage of the Tour of Qatar in February, and is hoping
to achieve success in this year's spring classics.
