GAGNON, QUEBEC - THE WILD EAST - GOING STEALTH

NIGHT SIX
WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 14, 2013
GHOSTOWN GAGNON, QC

We will over the days pass trough remnants of recent(2013) fires. We are fortunate as this is one road country. Fires (as what occurred this past July), accidents, parades can unexpectedly close this road. A detour could consist of four provinces and a couple of thousand kilometres.
Or waiting it out if one has enough emergency baking rations. Our plan.

Tonight we will do some stealth camping in the former Gagnon, QC. This was once a mining company town of nearly three thousand. Only assessable by rail or air. With the development of Fermont further north, this town and all that goes with 3000 inhabitants was demolished.
Here today, no Gagnon tomorrow.

Boulevard of broken dreams.

We will camp on the shore of the reservoir created by the building of Mani Cinq.
Most interesting is the formation left from the fourth largest comet strike on earth known to man.
This thing is measuring something like 70-80 kilometres in diameter.
Bringing a piece back for my brother.

Nobody around. Let's camp here.

It's lookin' like shrimp fried rice.

It is shrimp fried rice. That explains the seafood egg rolls.

Fresh blueberry pie. Who needs a plate?(Don't tell Kate)

Bon nuit!
