BURNT CAPE, NEWFOUNDLAND - WELCOME TO THE ROCK.

DAY NINETEEN
TUESDAY, AUGUST 27, 2013

We couldn't have been happier when we were greeted by rain and high winds on our first day on the rock. After three consecutive nights in Auberge MEC Dome for a Home, we were finding a roof.
Rain, wind or shine.
Earth, wind or fire.
Peter, wind or Mary.

Today our assault was from low level camp one outside of Flower's Bay to Burnt Cape.
Our Newfoundland Trip Tik is pretty much west coast. Northern Peninsula and then south. There we will grab the ferry back to mainland.

Breaking our first Newfie camp in the distance. Half a meter above sea level.

"What did the Newfie say when he heard that Quebec was going to separate from Canada.
That'll be good. Shorter drive to Toronto.

Many woman are pullin' their weight in these fishing parts.

 Grabbin' some shrimp for supper.
Do we want a tractor trailer load? Not today.

 Shrimp truck Moose catcher.

Breakfast at LeHood de  Rapide Cunard Foie.

 This will do nicely.
Burnt Cape Cabins. More like Windy Shores today.

 All clean.

All clean
Before we prepare supper.
What are we having? Haven't decided yet.

Bubba: Anyway, like I was sayin', shrimp is the fruit of the sea. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. Dey's uh, shrimp-kabobs, shrimp creole, shrimp gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There's pineapple shrimp, lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich. That- that's about it.

Paul: Anyway, like I was sayin', more wind in more ways coming next.
