OUR COTTAGE 2017. PART ONE

Before we get too far in what’s happening today, lets take a look at where most of this started. We couldn’t have been more happy with our construction crew, in more ways than just swinging the hammer, that started in the fall of 2016. With the best part of Mother Nature’s cooperation they had it closed in by the middle of November. Lots of stories here. Come on up and we’ll share a few.

We initially bought stock cabinets from the big box store down the channel, and then down the road.
After this we were on our own.

The one White Pine that we cut down became the legs of our eating table after Kate painstakingly debarked  most of it.

Here we are dropping it.TIMBER and lots of it!!!!

Next time you are stuck in traffic on the 401 at the 427,
take a look on the north service road for........
NAKED FURNITURE DEPOT.
Who would have thunk the some of our cottage furniture would come from........

In respect to the heritage of the once grand local White Pine lumber industry,
we will carry that cottagie wood throughout.

With early Canada`s "Main Street"
(two, three hundred years ago)
(the route of the voyageurs)
passing through the French River district of Georgian Bay just to the north of us,
we`ll salute the Hudson's Bay Company by flying their colours in our bedroom.
