Day 35
After sleeping right on Chile last night, we've spotted one of the Palifitos here and for a change tonight we will sleep on stilts.
On whole a rather large city, this barrio is a UNESCO heritage site.
Here in town, as are scattered over the island, are churches predominately built of wood. The exterior is clad with that ever popular corrugated steel.
Rather impressive and different after so many across the world in the more traditional stone and marble.
Here Canadian flags meet. This lady was escaping Fernie, B.C. after an an ankle injury forced her off her skis for the season.
TUFF.
They say they feed the farmed salmon at alarming rates with supposedly alarming stuff.
No shit.
No shit.
Kate and I are always up for the local fare. Since our arrival we've seen the harvesting and endless acres covered with this seaweedy, kelpy stock. Mostly for Asian export, we just haven't had the right opportunity yet to try some without buying what might turn out to be a months supply.
Also abundant and easy, pleasey:
Salmon Cerviche.
