FITZ ROY, SENDERO al, EL CHALTEN, ARGENTINA. NEMY, KATE and PAUL

January 10, 2017

El Calafate to El Chalten, Argentina.

 Survey says:
"Smile as we head to the Agentinian outpost of El Chalten"

This part of the world offers out large portions of most things.
Here being the wind.
That's HIGH winds.

Off to the bus. We'll explore more of the town on our return.

We will again travel more of the desert. The Patagonian Austral portion of the mighty Andes, and today's target, off in the distance.

We've arrived at one end of town at the bus station, tracked down our Hostal that we have a booking in three days and dropped of some gear and then continued to hike to the end of El Chalten where we picked up the Fitz Roy trail.

With grub and camping gear in tow and the weather looking fine, we're off to an impromptu couple of nights up the valley.

Hiking through and up and out of town.

 Mountain magic.
With the village of El Chaten in the bottom centre left, our first night "up" will be on Laguna Capri and then the next day up the valley to Camp Poincenot.

Parque Nacional Los Glaciares

Its all very Hubba Hubba.
Room with a view.
Our Laguna Capri camp.

Panorama Patagonia.

Next: Tomorrow we'll try to match up the actual range of "Torres" Yvon Chouinard used in his clothing line logo.
