NAVIMAG FERRIES. PUERTO MONTT TO PUERTO NATALES. DAY ONE. NEMY KATE AND PAUL

January, 06, 2017

Here we will board the Evangelista in Puerto Montt and for four days and three nights we shall sail through the Patagonia Archipelago and fiordlands to Puerto Natales.

We'll have some time ahead to explain more so lets just get on board first.

Here I was all worried about sea legs.
Nobody mentioned stairs!

This vessel serves as both commercial and tourist carrier. Far from the well appointed cruise extravaganzas available, here we will be provided the basics, as the show and entertainment is just beyond the ships railings.

There was a range of available berth and cabin options. Kate and I will enjoy simple private cabin with shared bathroom just down the hall.
Even without a porthole, at least we're not in steerage.

Aways reassuring to see some passengers in an optimistic mood before departure.

With no opportunity to disembark during the journey, our confines will allow the chance to meet many of our travelling companions, such as this couple from Belgium.

Allways a sigh of relief when the captain turns the key and the engines start
Ever seen anybody jumpstart a ship?

Untie thee

We will see more but here is one salmon farm just off the starboard side.

Anchors away.

We'll we're off.
Oue scheduled late afternoon sailing has us called to galley for supper not long after.
With limited onboard activities we'll for part of the sailing pass some of time by guessing what we are having.
Before, during and after.
This time the menu in Spanish not only added to ambiance but also to a continuing trip long mystery.

Off to bed after a good start. Glad I'm not on the top bunk tonight. (at least I didn't start there.)
