MONTREAL, QUEBEC TO GLENGARRY PARK, ONTARIO. CANADA. 112 KILOMETRES.

September 23, 2020

No sooner was I off my bike than I was back on with my plans of exploring Montreal shot.
As I traveled I continued to confirm that the rail service from Montreal to Ontario was in operation.
What I failed to find out was that it was not in complete operation.
With the temporary discontinuation of baggage cars,
no bikes allowed!
I was hoping to first get to Kingston and visit Hyla and leave my bike, then eventually head to Toronto.
After a process of elimination, bus, air, ......
I made it this far so whats another three hundred kilometres?
With Quebec's excellent network of cycling routes,
headed out of Montreal on beautiful trails, out of Quebec and then picked up the Waterfront Trail.
After some seven hours was nicely setting up camp in Ontario.

TROIS RIVIERES TO PARC ANTOINE GAUTHIER, QUEBEC. FIFTY TWO KILOMETRES

 September 17, 2020

TROIS RIVIERES, QUEBEC. GP3R. GRAND PRIX TROIS RIVIERES.

Still in use currently, going to do a lap of what was in the seventy's the home of one of the greatest street races in the world.

Having had attended many through the 70's, possibly the most notable was Gilles Villeneuve's win in 1976. The events of that era included a number of guesting hot shoe Formula One drivers. The '76 race saw Villeneuve outpace the likes of James Hunt and more. It was Hunt's recommendation that McLaren should take note of this kid, thus launching Gille's F1 career.

Nice place for a group ride. Had to turn down thier gracious invitation.

With Formula Atlantic being a premiere series in North America at the time, it was pretty impressive to see some current and and soon to be notable names drift(trying to) thier way through the famous Duplessis Porte.
