TREMINER

With our touring camp partner off at 05:30, we’re going to take our time and ensure we’re properly fuelled with coffee before heading off to Portneuf, Quebec. Our camps have been serving us well but  hot showers beckon. Finding routes that truly follow water courses are really not that common so for the next couple of days we’ll truly enjoy the mighty Saint Laurent.

Sunday 22 May 2022

Who would want to leave when you’re staying at the “Coconut Motel”, live volcano and all, but with the skies a bleu and the wind at our derierres, we’re off tracking down(stream) the beautiful Riviere Saint Laurent.
We’ve been averaging fifty to sixty kilometres a day, and at today’s end we are planning to take full advantage of the weather and the hospitable Quebecoise and camp. We’ve passed and have been greeted by a number of recreation cyclists on route, but today we’ll join and be joined by fellow cycling tourists.

3R

We’ll look forward to a break from the hot weather but the cooler pattern moving in will bring a forecasted unsettled front. Our room in Trois Rivieres will serve us well as we watch the system pass by, low and dry.

LOUISVILLE, QUEBEC. CANADA

After a couple of nights in Sorel Tracy, Quebec we’ll start our rebound back to Quebec City with a ferry crossing of the St Lawrence and off to Louisville, Quebec.

SOREL TRACY, QUEBEC, HEADING TO.

Packing up “ Camp Pierreville” comes with a little zesto with breakfast being the first order of a day that will see us ride into Sorel-Tracy, Quebec. There will escape some record heat and hold up for a couple of nights. With our motel room right on the Saint Laurent, planning not too much more than watching the boats pass.

JOUR TROIS

With some summer weather piling on, we’re trading down coats for downing Creme Glace and applying gobs of sunscreen. We’ve past a hundred farms and a hundred kilometres of  farm fields all in need of some precipitation. Even after what will be a week of amazing sun and record breaking heat, we’re siding with the farmers as there is some rain in the forecast.

JOUR DEUX

How do you say: “We’re getting the cycling bug out of our systems” in French? We continue with our “Tour du Nouveau France” with a slow motion lap around a portion of the beautiful Saint Laurent(We have work to do on the island so we best thought we would “ease our back”). Starting just outside Quebec City, we’ll tour down the south shore, grab a ferry crossing in Sorel-Tracy and return on all of the amazing cycling “Route Vert”, that criss crosses all of Quebec.
