I Love the USA. We weren't five minutes into Montana and there was a, the Trappers Saloon, and this was no"Big Thunder Desert Railroad Disney" prop saloon. Had everything but probably the bad smell of an old saloon.

Can't go to Montana and not stay on a ranch.

We`ll mosey right on in.

We're grateful for the nice weather for there are not a lot of accommodation options over these couple of days other than:

Here we`re breaking camp North Star and then off to Camp Loon Lake.

  

About as quiet roads as one could wish for. We will end up close the BC,Canada/Montana, USA border.

CRANBROOK TO NORTHSTAR RECREATION AREA, BC. CANADA. SEPTEMBER 21, 2023. DAY SIX

We will now leave a busier Cranbrook and a portion of the Crowsnest Highway and slowly turn south and towards Montana, USA. The limited services will have us camping for a couple of nights. First stop: Northstar Recreational Area just south of Jaffery, BC 

We, our loaded bicycles,......are quite the conversation starter. In Cranbrook we were befriended by more than one enthusist who recommended a trail out of town.

Got some gravel riding in and a chance to see some of the local wildlife.
