VELOROUTE BLEUETS. QUEBEC. CANADA. JOUR TROIS.

We will today tour a region heavily evident of it’s trois prominent industries. Forest products, agriculture and it’s partner, Agritourism and when we say industries, we are talking blueberries. By days end we will have past acres upon acres, kilometres after kilometres of fields bleuet. WE will not pass blueberry processing plants, but factories. The place to be late summer as most towns, businesses, …….all support a common theme and evident livelihood of this little antioxidant.

Our tent in a tent has served us well after a frosty night. After checking that there was no breakfast warming, today we’ll head to St Felicien and end our day with the plan of alternating hotel rooms.  Tres Bien. Let’s go!!

We decide to head to the region based on the promising weather forecast. We did forego looking at the ski and skating reports and will find some lingering snow patches but a fine sunny jour will make up for that.

With a colder night in the forecast, with great respect and our own “smoking ceremony” of a supper, we’ll spend the night gratefully with/on/ a reservation.

 

VELOROUTE BLEUETS. DAY ONE. LEAVING ALMA, QUEBEC. CANADA

Trying to make up for some lost winter cycling, we originally decided to circumnavigate the Gaspe, Quebec peninsula before returning home. Lingering winter weather had us re-schedule once again and now things look “moderately better” for us to lap the famous “Velo Route Bleuets” of the Lac St Jean region of Quebec. Cooler temps will still challenge us, but hey, that’s what Poutine is for!!
