Our bikes and setup provide for endless inquires, including where are you.................and a lot more.

Here fellow campers, in a van(we pretty much have not seen one cycle tourist) tells us their stories of having crossed the USA on bicycles a number of times.

We gladly ended our yesterday with a nice three/four kilometre downhill run into the State Park.

Problem today that it is a dead end.

We`ll end our day knowing we’ve earned our keep. 

Our little backcountry challenge will once again not only build a bit of character but reveal (a sometimes  too comfortable character) part of ourselves that’s a little buried and needing an edge to get closer to.

TUBAC TO PATAGONIA LAKE STATE PARK, ARIZONA. USA. DECEMBER 20TH, 2022

There was once a wise boy from a trailer park in Nova Scotia who said:

 “No matter where you go, there you are”.

Well on this leg of our tour we did where to go and there we were, but not necessary how we imagined or hypothetically plan.

I`m a big fan of Google maps. Its gotten us to a lot of amazing places, thank you. Somehow our suggested routing DID get us to the State Park but via some rugged backcountry farm roads.

Its a little disheartening after having traveled three quarters of our route to come to a small herd of cows guarding a gate to ???????. After some consultation with the “gatekeeper”, he kindly unlocked said gate and reassured us that our target was possible but with some…………

The some being some rather aggressive, lets say some ups and downs and all arounds…..

Here in this part of Arizona this nice fellow was raking a rattlesnake off his front step.

This is our mid desert thirty kilometre Col de Sac.

We wondered what to do:

Go to the lobby and get ourselves some snacks?

Cancel our subscription to the opera.

I don't like the opera,

get a subscription to the opera?

The only time that I will barely admit to watching "Bachelor Island", they drove the dumb b&é"§èç`s to the resort and to heep further tragedy on the babes, at the end of the show they told them that they are NOT on an island, but on a PENINSULA!!!!!!!!!
