SASKADENA SIX, SUICIDE SIX, THE STANDING MOUTAIN, WOODSTOCK, VERMONT. USA

After a bigger day yesterday I thought that this might be an opportunity for a quick ski and then some legs up. There were more to come but at 9:00 it was the staff and just pretty much myself as I took the first chair.

Before I realized it, after a little break in a most amazing lodge, it was going on to noon and I was more than happy having slid around  on some pretty fun runs. Enjoying the cold before some forecasted “Spring” weather is expected to roll in. Even with just one lift spinning, really enjoying everything about these modest size places.

RAGGED MOUNTAIN, NEW HAMPSHIRE. USA

Since my procedure I`ve been looking for some sort of new super powers.

Found a little today in skiing the most I`ve skied in a long while.

With a couple of empty detachable chairs, some cold and speedy snow, decent vertical, good sandwiches, inspirational playlists,  had a great day.

Sixteen thousand ft plus vertical is pretty good for me. Keeping safe. Heading to some smaller, slower hills in the next couple of days.

(Even juggling my schedule a bit. As a ski resort’s marketing will say, there might be some:

” NON CRYSTALLIZED PRECIPITATION EVENTS”

on the way)

Little story.

GUNSTOCK RESORT SKI. NEW HAMPSHIRE. USA. INDY SKI TOUR TWO.

8:50  first chair that wasn`t going to happen.

I like winter and I do like summer but prefer that they don’t come within a couple of days of each other. Definitely not going to complain, especially when skiing (thanks to that 70`s show) for FREE. Thankful to ski the first hour in fog before what will be a pretty pretty sunny sun. Still crazy happy to get a good taste, but not all, of what is one of New Hampshire’s oldest resorts. There has been some sort of winter sports happening here for almost one hundred years. Not experiencing the whole resort was a result of a rather inconsistent main chairlift. In the prime of winter it was down for odd periods, one being two weeks during a major school break. I was at piece leaving while it was still on “HOLD” and especially having shared another chair ride up with this local senior who commented, “ I won’t go on it”.

Getting my tan started.
Enjoying it but glad there is still some winter on the horizon.

Home to the first chairlift in New Hampshire.

Home for two nights.

Had plenty of fun for apparently skiing only half the place.
