What is.....
Holimont...

For over 50 years, families and snowsports enthusiasts from miles around have converged on HoliMont – North America’s largest private ski area devoted to family skiing adventures.

When the DOT sends out alerts to stay off the roads, they do have one exemption.
If you're going skiin'

Sweater Cam
 Guess what it's made from.

Although Holimont is a private club, they do open their doors and ticket wicket to whomever parts of the week.

With it being a private club, everyone seemed to know each other. Giving the place a homey feel.

BAYFIELD INLET, ONTARIO, ICE HIKERS 2 - WINTER 2014

At the end of January Kate and I headed to our cabin to try some mid winter trapping.
Trapping all the good things about being holed up in isolated cabin in the cold of mid winter.

Here we head back at the end of February for some more Cabin fever.

If your looking for more of a detailed story to life on Georgian Bay during a Polar Vortex time, check the dozen or so posts from January.

Here we will let every picture tell a story, story.
(not all true)

HEADING IN
FEBRUARY 2014

Oddly enough our February expedition started out like our December visit with us holding up in Parry Sound for a night. Weathering out some rather nasty winds.

Couldn't asked for better conditions to walk in. Not only did the snowmobile tracks make for good trekking, but also the reassurance that if the ice beneath our feet will support a sled, I don't have to worry about that extra slice of pizza last night.

Almost there. The water walk is about 8kms for us.

 Made it!

350 KILMAN ROAD, RIDGEVILLE, ONTARIO - SNOW DAY

March 13, 2014

With a couple of days earlier being so nice, pulled the Healey out so I could get some stuff done in the garage.
Need to find some '61 snow tires and ski rack

We were not sure if our driveway plowing contract had expired, so Kate and I took it upon ourselves to shovel our selves.
Got my training in for The Steaming Nostril, P2A, Yonge Street 10K, Banff Film Festival, cycle touring the Sierra Cascades.......
Guns of rubbery steel.
