WELLS GRAY ADVENTURES, HUT TO HUT HIKING - 5th Dimension of Wells

August, 2014
Day Two

Safely and soundly back, dinner chores appointed, time for happy hours.

Time to see some real Gray's Anatomy and get those boots off.

Looks much better than our usual on mountain apres hike of canned
Big Red Snack Foam on Eclairios Cereal.
(bag of SUGAR that comes withFREE DONUTS)

Burritos.
Gotta love it.
Wait.
The sleeping arrangements are....... Oh ya.

‎Buen apetito.

I usually limit my photos of women eating to those that involve Champagne and Caviar, but I like this pic.
The glow from the kitchen is some soon to be close encounter with some out of this world dessert.

"There's allways room for Jello"
Not when they are done with you around here.

We will find all cabins with ample solar power.
Most of the kitchen and the little bit of heating we required is propane.

Here Ron is reading in the latest edition of Zoomer magazine that Donald Sutherland is hotter than ever at 79.
No wait
It's the house rules.

Lights out in ten minutes.
Gladly

WELLS GRAY ADVENTURES, HUT TO HUT HIKING - 4th Shade of Wells

August, 2014
Day Two

Our tour will have us spend two nights at each cabin. Today we will do a day hike.
Around here I expect  it to be "what a day!" hike.

Each morning we will wake to a table that provides more than enough for us to prepare and pack our own lunches for the day.

Then the table is cleared to make way for more food.
BREAKFAST!!

Foodcam
I don't get my eggs at home this fluffy let alone what ever the hell elevation we are at.

Lets see whats in store for today.
Day 2: On this day you do a long hike in the surrounding Trophy Mountains, climb a few peaks in the range, and swim in the numerous lakes. Fantastic views all day with an incredible feeling of wilderness. If you take a longer lunch, there is very little elevation gain perhaps 400 feet for the day, if you join the group for a hike to the top of Ptarmigan Peak then the elevation gain for the day is about 800 feet and the distance travelled about - 7 km.

Day hikes are optional but I have to burn off breakfast.

Hello
The Blogger and Kate
Told you there is more to our guide.
Great photo Christine!

Christne offered endless info. Like any successful expedition, there was endless strengths from all fronts from all our group. Few questions went unanswered.

All hikes were nicely peppered with appropriate stops.

 Looks like a shutterbug bug.

Kate and I are starting to like the area.
In case we want to come back one day thought we'd look at the map again.
My cycle tour saw me come down the #93 from Jasper. Did Banff and then rode to Kamloops

Get the crayolas out and colour me gray!!
Wells that is.

 Rock and roll scramble.

Mind your step please.
Need  a safe trip back.
Hear we're havin' Mexican!

HURRA!

WELLS GRAY ADVENTURES, HUT TO HUT HIKING - 3rd Down of Wells

August, 2014
Day One.

With our first day slowly coming to a end, I'm starting to lay away my fears and concerns of not only putting my life, but Kate's as well in the hands of a complete stranger.
Our guide Christine is proving  to be more than just a guide, and our group is jelling, without any of that awkward jiggling.

One of Kate and mines must components in our travels is food.
Considering our whereabouts, here we will not only be NOT disappointed, but will gladly write
as I do in many posts on what could pass as a FOOD BLOG many times.

Smiles all around.
We are going to be all right.

WELLS GRAY ADVENTURES, HUT TO HUT HIKING - 2nd Shade of Wells

Day 1

Trophy Hut

Our first ascent has proved well as our newly introduced group has initially proved cohesive on many fronts.

One of those fronts is the food that we will experience throughout the week.

Shades of lunch

We'll see who's laughing at the end of the week.
Gearing up for our afternoon hike.
With weather like this!!!!

Shade of Grey

With Trophy Cabin off in the distance, our first day on the trails have proved successful for all.

Don't have to ask anyone to smile here.

Back in time for supper.
