An Olympic Ride. “Citius, Altius, Fortius” La Push, Washington. USA

So we roll into La Push on a rather grey, gloomy but warm afternoon and with our cabin not quite ready we just hang out with Jeff listening to his music and stories from Alaska as we watch the beach world go by.

We're hearing that that the weather might clear up for the evening so supper it is and then just across the laneway to the beach it will be.

Good rut to get into,
Pasta and Smoked Salmon.
(I get the whole upstairs to myself.)

As a couple of places we have been,
the whole of the land and resort is run by the local aboriginal clan.

Not sure how its said locally but bless this bounty.

FORKS TO LA PUSH, WASINGTON. USA.

We did switch rooms but for one night not a bad place to breakdown.

Going to like this place.

An Olympic Ride. “Citius, Altius, Fortius” Neah Bay to Forks, Washington. USA. Day Five.

Don’t tell anyone but this is where we will take a bus to Forks, Washington after I snapped a rear derailleur cable. There we will spend two nights. I’ll hop on another bus and head to the Bike Garage, big thanks Tom!!, in Port Angeles for a repair.

Easy living.

Would have been a scheduled stop but considering we did camp here on the way past,
not going to miss it as there is quite a noticeable climb to Forks from here.
had big smile every time heard the bus engine struggle.

Forks, Washington.USA.
Once one of the largest wood industry communities in the nation, if not the world.

Early morning run into Port Angeles.

Rolled bike right from them opening the door to repair stand. Brother and sister shop.
Thanks BIKE GARAGE!!!!!!!!

What better way than to celebrate successful day than with some fry bread.

Can't add too much to these pics wrapping up our Neah Bay stay,
other than that's shrimp and clam strips.

An Olympic Ride. “Citius, Altius, Fortius” Neah Bay, Washington. USA

What story these days doesn’t involve the weather and what weather story these days doesn’t involve smoke? Well here’s a very happy smoke story.

Neah Bay being an indigenous community on the ocean is heavy influence by its ancestry. No so more than fishing. Riding through town we spotted smoke but all the signs seemed to lead that it was the good kind.

Quite possibly the finest piece of any fish, here being salmon, that I’ve ever had.

Little après lunch trip to the beautiful local museum.
