WHISTLER SLIDING CENTRE - CANADIAN YOUTH LUGE CHAMPIONSHIPS

I better finish up our winter adventure before everything melts.

Our visit to Whistler had us heading up to the sliding centre to see whats up, or more importantly,

whats coming down.

 Here we happen upon the Canadian Youth Luge Championships.

Ever seen a 10 year old kid rock 90kph.

Micro missiles.

The warm temps and sun had the shades up on parts of the track.

What we have here could very well be our 2026 Olympians.

Great to see the young and old without the old. 

Very badass.

Reach for the stars, even if they are fiery balls of gas that may explode at any time

MOUNT VAN HOEVENBERG BOBSLED - LAKE PLACID

Our recent stay at Whistler, British Columbia, CANADA had us head UP to the Olympic Sliding Centre. 

Before we take a look at what was happening there, we'll take a look back to some visits to:

1959

 Here in 1959 we visit the bobsled track that hosted the LP Olympics in 1932.

Finish runout.

The whole track must have been handpacked with snow and ice.

In 1981 I did a solo climb of Mount Marcy. Stopped by the then new track that hosted the 1980 Olympics.

During the early 80's when combined numerous visits to Whiteface to ski and the track.
