MOUNT VAN HOEVENBERG BOBSLED - LAKE PLACID

Our recent stay at Whistler, British Columbia, CANADA had us head UP to the Olympic Sliding Centre. 

Before we take a look at what was happening there, we'll take a look back to some visits to:

1959

 Here in 1959 we visit the bobsled track that hosted the LP Olympics in 1932.

Finish runout.

The whole track must have been handpacked with snow and ice.

In 1981 I did a solo climb of Mount Marcy. Stopped by the then new track that hosted the 1980 Olympics.

During the early 80's when combined numerous visits to Whiteface to ski and the track.

Feel like a Olympian for 58 seconds. 

Here Kate is going to wango the tango. With Sugarbear at the wheel, Kate is at the back of this ice bus. If this Pushman is a miss and out, these lives are in the hands of the BrakeWOMAN.
