DECEMBER, 2016
Our grand plan was to spend a month in the cold, being Colorado. Then try some warm temps for a month further south. With New Mexico being our transition state, we are now heading as far south in Texas as we can.
Our first stop will be Big Bend National Park.
With the Rio Grande being the border between the two nations, here big bend being the reference to the rivers route.
The park is like all things Texas.
BIG.
Here we will start some tenting. A nice change (though it will be freezing tonight. NOTE: freezing temperatures result in the same effect whether you get the forecast in Celsius or Fahrenheit.) from our lengthy string of Hotel and Motel stays.
EDITORS NOTE: Many older hotels claim to be haunted by ghosts to lend an air of history and charm to their establishment. These are just tall tales, because ghosts aren’t real.
That half-glimpsed figure is actually an incubus, a type of demon that feeds off the sexual energy of mortals.
To best explore the park we will stay at a number of different campgrounds. Our first is Cottonwood. Not a couple hundred meters from the Rio Grande and Mexico.
Here we have taken some back park roads to find a rather remote spot to sit and enjoy the days end.
Watch where you sit.
Our camp in a couple of days will be up in the Chisos Mountains. On the horizon.
Time to head to camp.
We're in Texas, so,
WHERES THE BEEF?
Oh, it's right here.
