MONTEL LODGE BACK TO KILOMETRE ZERO, CRESTON, BC. OCTOBER 14, 2023.

(Going to take as long as our whole trip to get to this last post)

So after thirty one days we are back in Creston, BC this October 14, 2023. We couldn’t be happier with having started mid September we thought it would not be our legs but the weather that would dictate  the length of our tour. Not only did it cooperate but we couldn’t have ordered better weather to bring out the the best that fall has to offer.

A road, camp, food, saloon,………….best shared.

With limited bike repairs, wrong turns, camp kitchen spills, wildlife scares,……….our Selkirk Loop will be deemed “much success”.

LOCKHART CREEK CAMPGROUND TO THE MONTEL LODGE, SANCA. SANCA, BC. OCTOBER FIFTEEN, TWO-THOUSAND AND TWENTY-THREE.

So today being a month on the road we will break our last camp, ride to Santa, BC to a little lodge and then wrap it all up tomorrow.

With the campground kind of being closed we had a extremely quiet night.
Our breakfast entertainment is a very BC logger next-door doing a little forest maintenance.
(we were quick to visually measure the height of that tree and the positioning of our tent, more importantly our breakfast sandwiches)

Leaving our "kind of closed" campground.

With the Montel Lodge just around the corner,
we`ll have a nice short run into Creston tomorrow.

CRAWFORD BAY TO LOCKHART . CREEK PROVINCIAL PARK, BRITISH COMUMBIA. CANADA. EARLY OCTOBER.

Once again there is not much by our little motel room other than this great little bakery on site.
Nice toasted breaky sammy to get us on the way,
and a few extras to make sure we get down the road.

We will now for three days skirt along KOOTENAY LAKE back to Creston.

After a night in a great little motel room in Crawford Bay, we again will take full advantage of the weather and head to what will be our last camp.

We pretty much knew that our target campground is closed for the season but with a little circumnavigating the............we've found a nicely secluded site.
Here today,
gone tomorrow.
Please and
thank you.

KOOTENAY LAKE FERRY TO CRAWFORD BAY, BRITISH COLUMBIA. CANADA

Balfour, British Columbia. CANADA.
Here we will be ferried across KOOTENAY LAKE and begin our final run down to Creston.

Crawford Bay is an artist's community.
With it being the time of the year that it is,
 not much is open but.......

What we do happen to wonder in was an amazing weaving and loom studio.
The nice ladies were just as interested in our journey as we were in their art.
I`m deathly serious in avoiding any purchases for the long term on a bike tour but here we were getting close to done and bought some beautiful articles.

I queried them on their studio`s name,
BAREFOOT,
and sure enough!!!!!!!!

NELSON TO KOOTENAY LAKE FERRY, BALFOUR. BRITISH COLUMBIA. CANADA

Here we will ride out of Nelson to the ferry that will take us across Kootenay lake.
Off to an excellent start at the Kootenay bakery.
We're having a KOOTENANNY!!!

We keep dodging rain bullets.
Definitely getting a Fall feel but we couldn't be happier with the weather.

Hope this is not our ferry.
