SAILING THE GULF OF ST LAWRENCE
Our arrival the afternoon before was grey and rainy.
With Tim Horton's in the near distance, there's a reassurance that all is well.
Here even Mary is smiling as the suns out.
Who's Mary Brown. She's famous. Actually it's the chicken that's famous. Not sure about Mary.
Today under obvious sunny skies, we leave Newfoundland and sail to Sydney, Nova Scotia.
The island of Cape Breton.
This about as big a boat as I have been on. There are upwards of four decks just for everything from bicycles to tractor trailers.
Another three or four where we will find amble services and comforts for the six hour crossing.
A month before our crossing, this very same ferry that we are on ran aground here, just a mere 500 metres from the dock. With the huge commercial importance of this connection to the rest of the world, it was BIG news and disruption in service. There is more than one of these ferries constantly on the go, but still then.
Leaving Channel Port Aux basques, Newfoundland.
LEAVING ALL THINGS NEWFOUNDLAND
