QUIRPON, ST. ANTHONY, NEWFOUNDLAND - THE WILLY GRENFELL EXPERIENCE

DAY TWENTY ONE
THURSDAY, AUGUST 29, 2013
CAMP QUIRPON to ST ANTHONY, NEWFOUNDLAND

Good thing we had a tent as our night proved cool and damp.

Any venturing out of the tent during the night was additionally rewarded by watching the sweep of the beam of light from the lighthouse in the distance pass through the heavy maritime air.

Good morning Newfoundland!

A good morning to break camp and hit the local breakfast joint.

Here we'll spend the night. Enjoying a room and some Newfoundland Chinese.

Virtually all of where Kate and I had been in Labrador was at one time touched by Dr. Grenfell's live saving endeavours. St Anthony, Newfoundland became his mainstay.
Both as his home when not on the sea and  the main hospital and medical service centre.

The purpose of this world is not to have
and hold, but to serve.  - Wilfred T. Grenfell
