KREMS, AUSTRIA..........A BIKE RIDE TO PART ONE

It was written(on some travel brochure that we kinda copied their itenary):

Today, you journey into the heart of the Wachau Valley, aUNESCO World Heritage site known for its terraced vineyardsand orchards. Pedal through charming Austrian villages likeSpitz, Weißenkirchen, and Dürnstein, with cobbled alleys and

flower-covered balconies. Pass medieval relics, including the12th-century Dürnstein Castle ruin, and enjoy the local scenery ofgrapevines, apricot, and apple trees. Sample the region’s famousapricot brandy at the many wine and spirit shops.

A visit to the prestigious Weingut Lagler winery awaits you, a trueWachau experience. The day concludes in the 1,000-year-old cityof Krems, twin city to Passau, where the journey began. In the evening, walk through the Steiner Tor gate to the old town, a step back into a midivil village.

Privately owned castle.
Great if you don`t mind four hundred and thirteen year old plumbing.

With centuries to perfect, so much of the regional cuisine is matched to the local viticulture and brewing practices.
We are so accustom now that at almost every meal we sit down to the first page of the menu is generally a dozen or so different presentations of the "in season"
"SPARGLE"
(white asparagus)
Who dare complain.

I can't write enough on what a harmonious group we are.
What a pleasure and great traveling companion Peter has been.

Was going to insert some lyrics from a good Canadian, David Wilcox`s
Riverboat Fantasy,
but it`s all about smoking weed, doing Cocaine and drinking moonshine,
so I think I won`t.
It wasn`t the image I was trying to reflect here.
That would be more appropriate for a post about the
Consta Concordia.
For that I would have to add some prostitutes,
which might be in Wilcox`s song because I didn't mention the gambling and the whoring and the ......
(he`s Canadian, my goodness, such.....)
