JUST LIKE THE GONDOLA AND PICTURES SAY, SUN VALLEY!

I take back almost everything I said about not wanting to ski big name resorts. As in previous posts, if we were here a day earlier or later, last year or next, the story that this day was close to being our best day of skiing might not of been so, but just they way things worked out, we had an AMAZING day.
We are starting to ski a little stronger and hit the bowls and all sort of pitches that only a while ago I would not have attempted or enjoyed. The cold temperatures are ensuring fast snow and holding a most recent dump. Even by the locals we talked to, this day was grand.
Beautiful new lodges top and bottom.
Still surprising us is that this is the Saturday of a New Year's weekend and even though busy, few lift lines.
Our third ski area, in three days, in three different states. Planning to add to each tomorrow.
Hyla in one of many bowls. Steep stuff!
Ski out to the town of Ketchum, Idaho. Get away town of what appears to many famous people.
It was here sadly that Earnest Hemmingway lived but ultimately took his life.
Our meal of the day turned out to be the recommended and much enjoyed "Smothered Baked Potatoe"
Where else?
Home hill to colourful, now retired, ski racer Picabo Street.
This place scored high if only for the views.
Here we end a day where it appears we have benefited from the sun aligning itself with a beautiful full moon we have been driving under to provide us with a day soon not forgotten.
COMING NEXT - CAN IT GET BETTER? WERE WE AT SUN VALLEY?
