After our month of winter we had been hoping to be camping in Texas.
We had great weather at the start of the lone star state but going to and in Austin there has been quite the change. Only inconveniencing ourselves that it has become a bit too cold to camp, even for us Canadians, but unfortunately more so bringing a series of rather devastating storms across the state.
So with no stakes to pull up, we've spun the GOOGLE wheel and have decide to head to New Orleans to see what all the fuss is about.
Going to feel a bit like Christopher Columbus and discover someplace that already hundreds of thousands of people have been to.
We will spend a day on the road. Overnight in Baton Rouge, Louisiana (not the restaurant) and then jump to the Big Easy. Kate and I now are starting to add up the miles but travelling very well.
On the road we always try to log into the radio for the local going ons but always have our trusted back-up, SIRIUS satellite.
It seems that the only times we have heated discussions is which channel of the 200 or so.
When all four of our hands are on the selector at 145KPH and the screaming is:
COOL WAVES!!!
no
NEON BREEZE!!!
no
CHILL THUNDER!!!
there comes a moment when we realise that we're both
IDIOTS
and know it's
CHILL THUNDER LITE.
This first post of New Orleans is for the Alcoholics.
The second post is also for the Alcoholics, as it will be New Orleans by day,
in case you missed it.
Here you can see Kate, barely.
Parade because (fill in the blank. anything should work. The sun went down,....)

We will eventually leave New Orleans with the recommendation that everyone should see in once,
even if you not a Alcoholic.
