AUYUITTUQ NATIONAL PARK 1981. SUMMIT LAKE. POST 14 OF 19

Here on the south side of Summit Lake we look back and barely pick out the orange dot being the emergency shelter at camp.
Off the side of the massive moraine.
To get here for this image will prove a bit of an adventure.

In order to access the area we will need to utilise a hand over hand human clothes line.
As we approached the crossing with my new found friends we saw what we thought was a friendly soul waving to us as we approached.
What it turned out to be was that he was in distress and stranded in the above position. Having "almost" made it across, the line had jumped the pulley, leaving him (with his two companions on the leading side) stuck.

We quickly obliged but it left us pondering our fate if we attempt the same.

That's me!

MUCH SUCESS

Hows that for a receding glacier.
