We've made our way to Piestany, Slovak Republic.
In listening to our parents talk and refer to, it was, and still is today in the way of a seasonal residence for our Aunt Eva, a city of note for the Gavora Family.
Not only did we come for some family history,
but also for the world renown thermal spas.
We've slummed into a moderate priced property for our spa experience.
We enjoy ourselves most everywhere we travel.
Including here......
Would have enjoyed it more if I was into a vibe of lingering suppression from a communist regime.
In all fairness we did not go all "mud bath and drinking litres of sulphurous hot tub water"
Also in all fairness the threat of Covid19 was just creeping in which perhaps contributed to a rather sombre atmosphere.
Touchy issue in this environment.
Not sure about the whole healing thing.
People of all stature and with all assortments of maladies have been coming here for over one hundred.
Didn't see a lot of people throw there crutches away as they Mary Lou Retton cartwheel out of the facility.
There were a number of pools.
Both inside and outside.
Surprisingly all were not very stinky nor that crazy hot.
