OUR COTTAGE. YOUR GUEST ROOM.

Hello. Finding it hard to believe that it’s been seven years since our cottage starting going up and six summer seasons that Kate and I have been endeavouring to bring it to some semblance of complete. (I use the word “work” with reverence as one would be hard pressed to find a nicer place to do so) Not sure if it will ever be “finished” but we  sure are  proud (surprised, confounded, amazed,….) of how far we’ve gotten. In the next series of posts we would like to share with you some images of our beautiful hideaway.

I never sure what to call this room but I am sure is that I’ve not been in too many spaces that pack as much into a little corner as here. 

You pick your favourite. Kate’s cottage studio. How does one get anything done with a view like that. The cottage is pretty open concept but if you need to hide somewhere, try the cubby bed. What might be the coziest get away is the loft bed and lounging space. You won’t want to go to sleep for missing the view. To get to cozy you need to climb the crazy. Stairs that are made up of reclaimed steps that Kate went Dawahli on and cedar logs that we chopped down ourselves.There a number of projects that we start not knowing quite sure what it will be till done. Oh,……that’s what that is…..a tribute to the once (one hundred years ago) all encompassing local White Pine lumber industry. There a guest bed, and………………..just lost track.
