CYCLE TOURING MANITOULIN ISLAND, LA CLOCHE MOUNTAINS, ONTARIO - D2

TUESDAY, JULY 15, 2014

Today it's looking like we might get some wet weather later. Maybe a motel might be in our future.
But before we get to whats looking like Little Current and actually Manitoulin island, we got some hiking to do.

Before we get on the big Island, we will cross the continuation of the La Cloche Mountains. The predominate quartz feature of the La Cloche make the slightly east of us, Killarney Provincial Park the spectacular place it is.

These crumbling foundations are whats left of a old fire lookout tower long gone.

On route we hiked to the summit of Willisville Mountain. They claim that where we stand, five members of the Group of Seven stood, or sat, and did their thing.

Famous Nellie and Grace Lakes are up there somewhere.

There is a chance that the body of water on the horizon is Three Narrows Lake. Part of a week long back country canoe trip that  Hyla and I did several years ago.

Well. Just as we were coming down from the summit and close to the Pato, the Weather Network's call that there is a 90% chance of rain was 100% correct.
It's off to Lttle Current and the finest two star motel money can get.
