CYCLE TOURING MANITOULIN ISLAND, CUP AND SAUCER TRAIL, ONTARIO - D3

WEDNESDAY, JULY 16

Today we will leave the rain behind, attempt to summit the highest peak on Manitoulin, ( Two summits in two days. Right up there in conquests as in my "Buffalo Mountaineers"days) and then head to the far west end of the island.

View Little Current to Meldrum Bay in a larger map

Little Current had much more going for it than just this image of downtown.
The harbour was full of pleasure craft and all the feel of people coming and going. Seemingly on holidays
Last night I was more concerned about keeping our Fish and Chips dry than my camera.

Heading to the top of Manitoulin.

Here we have made our way to a rather unique primitive campground. On the site of a now museum piece lighthouse. Along with a couple of rather transient looking occupied sites, we had the whole place to ourselves.

 Fresh local Rainbow Trout.

There is just one more island over my shoulder before we are looking at the United States of America.

One and a half guiding lights.
