 UP and out of Trail, BC.

After a little work to get out of town, going to ride "Piano" for the forty K's to Salmo.
Need to conserve for tomorrow may be my meanest and most challenging day.

The Columbia River just entering the USA.

I'm thinking Idaho.

After two weeks on the road, this couple doing an BC interior four day loop, will only add to a total of three cycle tourists I've passed.

Had a good chat.

Breaking Paulson Pass camp.

Little cold overnight but making it here made up for that.

Stopped by for a little water top up.

Will be back.

As expected, like Rossland a lot.

Made a quick stop so as not to wear out my welcome.

Coming back.

Will trade the plus 25c for minus 25c.

Will hit Trail, BC just down the road for the day.

Literally big DOWN the road.

We need a little cedar but his is not the place or time.

Problem.
Have to drag my room and board up this beast as I plan camp topside.

PAULSON PASS

OUCH!!!

The gift of beautiful scenery that keeps,

taking, and taking,.....

About half way. 

Started around the corner way down there.

Just part of it.
Will feel like they were all uphill,
clocked about seventy kilometres by the time I pitch camp.

Almost there!

Pretty much like the past three major summits,

about three hours of saddle time over twenty five K's.

Was only about five kilometres from Nancy Greene Provincial Park, but this BC rest stop will serve me fine for the night.

The combination of cooked legs and a picnic table signals my days end.

Other than some transports that helped keep the bears at bay,(did see one cross the highway not far from here)

great spot.

Not a day riding in BC without a little climbing.
