DECKER LOOP, BLACKCOMB, WHISTLER - 1of3 - To the Tarn

SEPTEMBER, 2014

I wonder what my hororscope says?

During our stay in Whistler, Kate and I thought we get out of town for a night or two.
Here we do:

DECKER LOOP
Garibaldi Provincial Park
Blackcomb Mountain
British Columbia
CANADA

With backpacks on board we'll start with a gondola ride out of Whistler Village to the resorts Roundhouse.

Then we transfered to the Peak to Peak and headed to Blackcomb.
Our hike will take us across the runs coming off Seventh Heaven and beyond.
Top right corner of the above photo.

Our target is is the large rock face and cut on the top left of this photo.
Nice trip so far.

Grab a quick coffee and we are off.

Survey says:

6 DECKER LOOP
(Highly recommended for advanced to expert hiker)

At the South end of the Overlord Trail (2), Decker Loop trail offers high alpine views of rugged mountain peaks and glaciers traveling through Garibaldi Provincial Park. Perfect for the experienced hiker who is looking for more of an adventure. It is also a geological exhibition of how the mountains were shaped by glaciation and volcanic activity.

Here we've traversed and now look back at Seventh Heaven.

Marmot

Overlord Glacier in the distance will be our backdrop for supper.

Here we start dropping down to the turquoise dot being Decker Tarn.

There we will camp for the night.

COMING NEXT: A night
