With a morning like this, can't help taking a quick early, little cool, look around before the crew arrive.
The moon.
Up here always super.
It being closer to Santa season rather than cottage season, the one and only goal is to get the building closed in. With the windows here, the final roof skin of steel well on the way and this brilliant forecast, its looking a lot like mission possible.
With virtually all of the Bayfield Inlet/Nares cottage community being water access only, this already
quiet corner of the Archipelago goes almost silent after Labour Day.
Funny that our remote corner that is usually traffic free year round is a buzz mid November. Here another crew is also taking full advantage of the unseason like weather and doing some work at Mary Ann's place. One of the very few cottages around us.
The sun couldn't be more welcomed.
The gang needs to head topside.
Mrs. and Master bedroom corner.
The left gable half will be the second bedroom with a loft bed.
(in case the building dept. might come across this post, the loft will actually be for storage,
storage of sleeping people)
With still one door and a window to be cut threw the building wrap, the Washhouse and Mechanical/storage room.
For the winter we will close in the gable end frames. Next spring we will finalise the size and placement of some trapezoid windows.
Kate and I have for a long time have been studying building products and their respective available colour options, but its not till its been sign, sealed and delivered that one can safely say,
"perfect".
Never thought I'd see the day that we would go Vinyl. Clad wood windows were the preference, but vinyl met the price point.
They look great. The exterior green is a perfect match to the steel. The interior beige will go just fine with our predominately pine trim.
I'm just going to top up my coffee before the crew arrive.
Stick around for a full update.
