BAYFIELD INLET FIREWORKS

The one advantage is that you can light your smoke without stopping.

BAYFIELD INLET, TAKE IT OFF, YOU HOSER

JUNE 2013

As more of the floor is removed, we are getting a good look at this part of our property for the first time. So better to get and idea of how our new cottage will sit, we have been cleaning away what could be forty, fifty years of matter that one way or another accumulated underneath the old cottage. After much raking and dumping mostly organics, no better way to spend a hot summer day than firing up the water pump and taking the rest off, you hoser

For being out of direct rains way, there are still massive root systems spread throughout

Guess what's in the Dutch Oven
Go ahead and guess.

If you guessed cranberry stuffed chicken roll, chorizo sausage and corn, you were correct.

We decided to go Intercontinental with the chicken chutney.
Mango Rhubarb!

It seemed that summer started right on the clock. As of June 21, we have started to experience some warm and humid days.
Time to turn on the Georgian Bay air conditioner

Do not look directly into the sun.
What did I just say.

THERE WILL NOW BE A BREIF INTERMISSION.
The regular scheduled blog will resume shortly.
Please fell free to get some refreshments.

Welcome back.

So as to avoid labour strife and interruptions, the staff were feed well.
I just love the colours.
There is no lovelier brown than that of the bacon.

Guess what kind of pie this was.
Go head and guess.
WRONG!

The end.

BAYFIELD INLET - GEORGIAN BAY HEAVY METAL

June, 2013
BAYFIELD INLET, ONTARIO, CANADA

Some random images of the continued demolition of the cottage on our island.
I am down to the floor that is surprisingly, considering the remote location, all steel floor trusses.
My best calculation from the progress so far is that we will end up with a ton, if not more, of recyclable scrap STEEL. The way this thing was built, it could of supported a cottage skyscraper. I have been able to dispose, in various ways, of the rest of the cottage so far, but definitely looking at some barging for this disposal.

At one point we thought that we might reuse some of the patio doors.
Not now.

Was doing the safety dance.

With the irregular floor layout, even for me it's a guess that I'm a little over half way done.

Starting to expose some Canadian Shield that might become part of our grand room floor.
A SOLID!

The cutting of metal is new to me. The sparks from every cut is like some major July 1st sparkler show.(I definitely make sure I zipper-up after a outhouse trip.)
Will do some night cutting shots.
