Bayfield Inlet, Ontario, CANADA
October 9-13, 2016

Editors note: Keeping in the theme of Thanksgiving, today is Cyber Monday. Please take into consideration that this post is a little long and even Toyotathons don't last forever.

 Nice little Pickerel.
This weekend I did the unusual and let the pictures of Nicola's large Pike get away, as I had some:

 Tending the Dutch Oven

I know but it is a Brussels Sprout and its healthy and Sam seems to be in AH of the Turkey Schnitzel and....

Next Thanksgiving we'll have a lot of pics from

Some people think that turkey is so nice,
They'll have it twice.

CREATION. THE COTTAGE OF THE RISING SUN

Friday, November 17, 2016

Having been involved in the construction of two of our homes and more so coming from an industry of supplying building materials and components, we have a general concept of whats involved in time and dollars to get something built back on the mainland.

For as long as we have owned the island, over twenty years now, I've thrown away all concepts of mainland procedures and protocols in regards to getting anything done on the island.

Where at times the water access and isolation is our greatest treasure, they becomes factors of variable consequence during construction.

With bodies and building materials, barged and boated in, I will be forever impressed with the commitment, dedication and the all important knowledge of the LOCAL do's and don'ts of our contractor, Doug W. Likewise with his efficient and likable crew, for having started mid September (12th) the structure will be up and closed-in in a little over two months.
Kate and I do have to give a huge thanks to the people at The Weather Channel as well.

Here I catch my last ride of the year.

Little easier said than done, with the windows on site, its just the installation and a little more boarding up and we will be good for the winter.

 Thompson Marine.

Thanks for the ride and the amazing job guys.
See everyone in 2017!
