NEMY FAMILY COTTAGE. BAYFIELD INLET, ONTARIO, CANADA. AUGUST 31- SEPTEMBER 4, 2017

August 31, 2017

After being on the mainland for over the past month, we've returned together to the island. In my absence it wasn't just our electrician, plumber and framers(window installers) that have been moving forward.
As you will( I'm already planning on going away even longer next time) see Kate had some some handy help from a variety of visitors.

Christened our first breakfast together in the cottage.
Bacon!!

As we are currently well on our way with a number of projects, here will be some "before" that will be updated in the upcoming posts.
The cedar strip canoe in this image will be lightly refinished and suspended acting as a lamp(s) shade.

Cool, eh?
Yea!!!!
To the left is our fridge.
(protective wrap still to come off the aluminum)
Warm, eh?
Back side of our propane stove.

We almost enjoy some stormy Georgian Bay weather as much as our days of sunshine. Here especially a thunder and lighting show that lasted virtually all day.

We'll get a better look later, but here, thanks to Kate's brothers and gang, our butcher block is positioned in the kitchen.

In order to place our kitchen cabinets so Doug can plumb our sink, here the insulation installer is finishing up before she'll grab the nailer and start panelling away.
Busy girl.

Hiding some pieces behind the cabinets.
Cheap, eh?
like they would answer in japan:
"Ah,a cheap eh to you to!"

Part of our finishing design detail is "as we go".
Have some, button not all, plans for these logs.

Flying high.
Thanks to all of the recent visitors for projecting our totem in place. I knew there was a reason that I went away.

Not too big,
Not too small.
New and exciting during my absence was the delivery and installation of our gable end windows.

The east end is mirrored other than an operating unit at the loft bed. Wait until you get a good look at that. Best sleeping (or awaken spot because of the view) spot on the island.

Kate thought see saw a fish.
