We've had a great stay but its time to roll out. With Labour Day weekend upon us, we'll still enjoy a couple of nights in the park, but in land less travelled.
World famous park boundaries do not shield from Mother Nature's wrath.
Evident from Sequoia National Park to here and we will see beyond, the stress brought on by the drought and subsequent insect infestation have resulted in massive die offs..
They suspect that upwards of 31,000,000 tress of various species have succumbed over the past five years.

It 'll be about 55k ride today.
With a good part of it up, that'll be far enough.
Famous amongst the climbers and like, Camp 4's counter culture is the place to be (if you can get a spot. campers start queueing up during the night) if you want to distance yourself from the RV(and all the trappings) crowd.
Last look for now.
Lets see how far everyone got.

One thing worse than climbing is climbing in the wrong direction.
We're going up!
Must be the right way.
