This covers my days thirteen and fourteen. Into Twisp, WA.

The price I pay for getting a room is that the next morning I can't bring myself to leave early.
Like today I paid dearly by still putting in some riding in the late afternoon. Generally the hottest part of the day.

Wasn't in a big rush today. Talk wood with this guy.

Will be out of this valley and in the hills for the night.

Anyone who has rode in the heat of the day know to watch for these tar snakes. Almost got bucked off my bronco. Don't need any Washington DNA. Dirt n' Asphalt.
I could of had by now quite the portfolio of road kill photos. Here it would be snakes. Rattlers.
This is not the big one, but seems like all towns have their own rodeo grounds.

I have learned a lot by reading other peoples blogs and journals. By far the most the significant piece of advice was to eat at the Livestock Market Cafe. Most comments said to ignore the fact that it looks like it's been closed for years. The fact the it was attached to a livestock auction building, most comments noted that if you a vegetarian, keep cycling. You probably could just order a plate of meat. Most bloggers challenged each other to see who got the most bacon 7,8,9, strips? I thought best not to count.

Heading into Okanagan, WA and the library for a little break.

Burnt countryside. Sad but seems appropriate with the heat.

Staring to ride up Loup Loup Pass.

Rode part of the way up Loup Loup pass with two guys from France. I was dying. They were flying and were planning on going much further on the day that I ever (wanted) could have dreamt of. Au revoir mon amis. Bon Chance!
Having all my supplies and not needing to much more, this wilderness camp spot was amazing! RV's need not apply. Tents only.

I love sleeping without the tent's fly on. Wake up. Check out
the moon, Venus and some pre peak Persied' Meteor showers.
Back to sleep. More climbing tomorrow.

If you've found the meaning of the truth
in this old world- You are a lucky man!
If knowledge hangs around your neck like
pearls instead of chains - You are a lucky man!
Takers and fakers and talkers won't tell you.
Teachers and preachers will just buy and sell you.
When no one can tempt you with heaven or hell-
You'll be a lucky man!
